song challenge. . .songs revealed
FINAL UPDATE: Listed after each clue below is the title of the song and the artist.
UPDATE: Okay, I added more lines to the songs listed below. Here are a few other clues: I have diverse taste in music so don't figure out one and assume all the rest will fall into the same or similar genre - not going to happen, lol. Two of the songs below now actually state the name of the song within the lyrics that have been revealed. At least two of the songs below are country songs. Don't think of today's music, there isn't one song listed that is popular right now and a few go back decades.
Here are the instructions:
Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Strike through the songs when someone guesses both artist and track (title) correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like the game, post your own.
Step 6: After a week, any songs left I will add the next line.- Is it an horrific dream? Am I sinking fast? Could a person be so mean, as to laugh and laugh? The Hurting by Tears For Fears

wow, that is insanely difficult. I didn't get a single one.
I may have to try this.
@godfatherofgreenbay - It is difficult. I found the idea on a post on DeviantArt and read that person's list and I couldn't get any of them, and I know music and have very diverse musical taste. :)
Number 12 is a Garbage song... can't remember the name...
@Edgebreak - Correct! :)
I really feel dense that was all I got. I mean I have fairly diverse taste in music myself. The lyrics on #6 have me curious as to the band.
I may have to do this myself at some point.
@Edgebreak - Don't feel dense, when I first stumbled on this idea I thought I'd get a lot for the same reasons but I didn't even get one. It's a lot more difficult when you have no music and are strictly reading the lyrics. I followed the instructions exactly and I'm fairly certain there are at least a couple on here no one would get because they're either foreign or self-published/not well known and #6 is one of them. I'll give the answers soon though, I don't have a lot of subscribers so wasn't expecting much. :)
I think #5 is John Lee Hooker
And I think #14 has to be Black Flag or Henry Rollins
@godfatherofgreenbay - Good job! I had to look up #5 to verify John Lee Hooker had done the song, I have it by Patsy Cline. And yes, #14 is Black Flag. :)
number 9 has got to be one of the country songs.
I'm going to have to look for some of these songs.
